Who’s up for the inaugural Great Birmingham 10k Fort Dunlop Cup?

Is your company fit and fast enough to get its hands on the first-ever Fort Dunlop Cup running trophy?

We’re urging teams to take part in the Great Birmingham 10k on Sunday May 1 with an engraved trophy up for grabs for the fastest firm.

The 10k Business Challenge is open to small, medium and large businesses and the four fastest collective times by participants will be added up for each team to pick the overall Fort Dunlop Cup winner, or the event outright.

More than 7,000 people are expected to take part in the 10k run which starts in the city centre before taking in the sights of south Birmingham.

This year’s 10k run starts at 11am, giving people plenty of time to travel into the city centre and, if needed, a little longer in bed!

Business Challenge teams must be a minimum of four people and a maximum of eight, but businesses can enter as many teams as they want, in male, female or mixed sex categories. Mixed teams must have a minimum of two men and two women.

Companies taking part in last year’s half marathon and 10k included Birmingham law firms Shakespeare Martineau and Trowers & Hamlins, corporate finance giant KPMG and commercial property specialists CBRE.

David Hart, communications director for the Great Birmingham run events, said:

“We’d love to see a record number of entries in both the Great Birmingham 10k and half marathon, from companies of all sizes across the Midlands.”
