Thank You From Fort Dunlop

With Christmas fast approaching, we’re making the most of the opportunity Thanksgiving has presented us and saying a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in Fort Dunlop’s 2015 successes!

Take a look over the events and activities we’ve had in the past 12 months…

We brought something truly unique to the roof of Fort Dunlop in May in the form of a hot tub cinema club! Illuminated in a true 80s neon style, the roof was fully kitted out for 3 weekends, with butler service and a DJ setting the atmosphere.

Showing Cocktail, Point Break and Jaws, the event was a huge success and truly showed that Brummies truly are party people!

Making sure there are no soggy sandwiches, we’ve been bringing Bite Street Food to Fort Dunlop once a month since the beginning of 2015. Showcasing the best street food traders from around the Midlands, Bite has given Fort Dunlop tenants and opportunity to get out of the office and mingle – with some food and drink, of course!

We installed 5 static bicycles in the Fort Dunlop lobby and lit up the famous Fort Dunlop letters to support the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation’s Big Yellow Friday event. Volunteers powered the bikes between 8am – 8pm and cycled the distance between Fort Dunlop and John O’Groats. Well done to everyone involved for supporting such an important cause.

Well-known fashion retailer Claire’s abseiled down the front of Fort Dunlop to raise money for Comic Relief. Their brave team of intrepid fundraisers went over the side in March and we can’t say thank you enough to them for being so brave!

Our lobby got a beautiful facelift so we can fully welcome visitors and staff with true Birmingham spirit. Complete with a fact wall and interactive directories, it’s a fresh look for this landmark building.

Fort Dunlop joined The Big Hoot as a presenting partner and took in some owls before they headed off to locations across Birmingham. 3 owls took up residency with us and the final Big Hoot auction took place in the building, raising significant funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

This year we’ve partnered up with KidsOut. KidsOut is aiming to send thousands of children in refuge a present. To accomplish this mission, we are asking you to help through our giving tree 2015. Simply take a KidsOut tag from the Giving Tree in the Fort Dunlop reception (each tag will have a child’s name, age and appropriate toy), purchase a gift valued between £5-10 and leave it in the designated area in reception. KidsOut will ensure that your present gets to a local child in refuge.

Last year more than 4,000 children benefited from the scheme, and we hope to raise that figure even higher this year.

So here’s to you – the people who have helped make everything happen!
